Savory Avocado Ricotta Toast

Ricotta Toast 2 Ways

Ricotta is the Renaissance woman of the cheese world. She can do anything well, and with panache. Here, we use this spreadable cheese on two very different toasts—one savory, one sweet. Both equally irresistible and beautifully Instagrammable. Ya’cotta try them!

Savory Ricotta & Avocado Toast

Avocado and ricotta are two creamy, indulgent ingredients you need more of in your life! Top this savory toast with a sprinkle of dukkah—a Middle Eastern spice mix of hazelnuts, sesame seeds, coriander, cumin, and black pepper.

Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients
  • 4 sourdough slices
  • Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray
  • 1 large avocado
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tbsp dukkah
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 4 pinches salt
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Directions
  1. Cut sourdough bread into slices. Spray each one with avocado oil and toast to light-medium.
  2. Spread ricotta on your toasted bread.
  3. Cut, peel and pit avocado. On a cutting board, slice avocado halves into thin slices. Fan out the thin slices with your hands and place them over the ricotta.
  4. To finish, sprinkle a pinch of salt, ¼ tbsp of dukkah, and a touch of chili flakes on each toast. Drizzle lightly with extra virgin olive oil and enjoy!

Sweet Peach Brûlée Ricotta Toast

Pan-fried peaches are the best peaches, don’t you think? Caramelize them in a cast iron pan, then layer slices over a bed of ricotta-on-toast. Top with lavender goat cheese (you read that right), balsamic glaze, and whole grain mustard seeds.
